Update map on NAVIGON Primo 1400. There are no maps to buy for old Navigon GPS devices.

Thanks for the come back. THis is the 1st I’ve heard about Navigon abandoning the North American Market. I thought they were a Canadian company. I’ve forgotten how I got there but, from your site I used a link with KARTEN in it to locate a Navigon site with new Fresh Maps software. I had used the Update my Software option on the previous Fresh Maps software & was assured I had the current version, 1.49. I downloaded & installed the version found on the KARTEN Site & found the current version was 3.01. After installing it I was sure my problems were solved.

When I tried to access my existing account I got “Don’t recognise the e-mail address or Password”. I decided to start a new account. When I finished I Saved the Account Info & got “Accessing Server” & then “Invalid Client”. That continued through all options on the new software. After an hour of screwing around with it, I went to Amazon & found the 2 year Update for $10 more than the Advertised Price, $90. I guess I should have thrown my hands up& bought a new GPS with a Finger for Navigon but I bought the Update instead.

Now I’m waiting for Snail Mail to deliver what I should have been able to download from their site for $10 more plus shipping costs. Unfortunately, this is my 2nd failed relationship with a GPS which had ancient maps & a promised Map Updates. Magellan Navigator wasn’t any better & their site was just as bad.

I bought the Navigon 2120 MAX after I gave up on the Magellan because of the Traffic Alert (no subscription cost) & the PROMISE of quarterly Map Updates. After the 1st Map Download from Navigon I was NEVER able to download new maps through Fresh Maps. Circular References in the Links & Server Failure, off & on for 2 years. I hope this Map Update by way of Amazon gets me through the short term. If it doesn’t, I’ll return it to Amazon & buy a different GPS which doesn’t offer ANYTHING FREE.

Well, I recieved the Map Update card. I was expecting a new SIM Card but I got an Activation Card which has a code so I can download the Map Update. THat was the problem I was having all along. I couldn’t locate the Download site! I activated the Map Download on the Navigon Site & recieved an e-mail with a Link marked Download Now.

Hot Damn, progress. I followed the link & got to a site which was supposed to let me download the Q2 2010 Maps.

I clicked the button & got a flash of something, Connecting to server & then back to the NavigonUSA Site. Nothing but Iphone & Android stuff. I switched back to FreshMaps & tried again.

This time I get “This Product not supported.” My Navigon says “Please insert Memory Card” in 7 languages. Multiple tries on the “Contact Us” & TEch Support site have been sent with no reply, to date. I’ll return the Card & get a refund from Amazon. At the same time I will complain about the product & lack of response from NAvigon. I plan to replace the 18 month old device with one from a company I have heard of & that is American Made. Not that I expect it to be any better but at least I can sue.

Can not update my NAVIGON! Been directed toward lots of advertisements ie to buy products. Sounds like another false add where I’ve been given information products FREE. Which would have been 19.95.I get directed to pay SH which turns out to be $33.95!!!!! Always sticking it even NETFLIX has joined the capital only organization. П™ Now I can’t update this product and only wish it could be sent back.have used it since 2008, religiously. Follow Ups aren’t necessary cause money motivated country.

Award-winning and reliable navigation, a sophisticated search concept and useful extra functions – NAVIGON is the perfect companion for every trip. Experience how good navigation on smartphones can really be and test NAVIGON for 7 days for free. The new app combines the proven precision navigation with individually selectable usage periods, apart from which it is not only at your side as competent co-driver in Europe but also in North America and Australia. Thanks to downloadable maps you need no Internet connection for navigation and avoid expensive roaming fees when traveling abroad. INDIVIDUAL USAGE PERIOD Test NAVIGON with all functions for 7 days for free and then opt for a month's or a year's usage or, as option, usage without any time limit.

The various usage packages can be booked per region and their validity periods are individually extendable. The address and POI search and route planning can be used at any time for free. FUNCTIONS - Offline navigation: navigate without Internet connection in Europe, North America and Australia/New Zealand - Regular map updates included!

- Always find your destination: intuitive address entry, millions of interesting POIs as well as navigation to favorites and contacts - Enhanced orientation: accurate and meaningful voice announcements – also via car speakers, real signage displays including lane guidance, speed warning and POIs on your route. - Up-to-date information: traffic information, speed camera alerts and free parking spaces on the roadside.* - Save money: current fuel prices in Germany show you the cheapest filling station on the route. * MAPS: Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand in one single app: navigate with the latest HERE maps in more than 45 countries. INFO FOR OUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS This app is mainly designed for new users. It’s an independent app and thus no update of another NAVIGON app version. Existing customers of NAVIGON regional apps, e.g. NAVIGON Europe, will continue to receive updates for their app and will still be able to use their app.

NOTES Constant use of GPS can greatly decrease battery life. Please bear in mind that some functions may not be available in all countries.

For more information, visit us at www.navigon.com or facebook.com/navigon! * Please note that the use of live services (traffic and speed camera notifications, fuel prices, etc.) requires an Internet connection in order to deliver absolutely up-to-date information. This might entail charges by your network operator for data usage. The view on the map is far too narrow in landscape mode (how you normally use it on smartphone I suppose).

There is only half of the screen height used for the map and the rest its spoiled with information bars. Please hide the Android bar and make the app bars transparent or much smaller like on Windows version. I'm owning a license already on Windows but this way I'm not prepared to pay for the Android one. It is a shame for an otherwise extremely nice app!! I would for sure recommend it if the screen issue was solved. I was very excited to try this as I have been a Garmin user for many years.

However, this seems to be missing some of the basic functionality that my hardware GPS device has. I cannot seem to have customisable displays of speed, arrival time, etc on the side of the screen.

I can't find how to display a text summary of the route. I cannot find a way of displaying an overview map of the entire route. The choice of voices isn't as good as on a physical device. The interface isn't anywhere near as clean and easy to operate whilst in the car. I can't see any easy access to OSGB map references. If anything I would expect more from a piece of software that is able to take advantage of a modern tablet, but unfortunately not. This is a real shame as Garmin devices are light-year's ahead of Tom Tom etc.

Overall the best smartphone sat nav out there and I have tried them all. Unfortunately this is also the most expensive! The reason this app wins out is the voice guidance which is hands down far superior to any other app. The voice gives timely and extremely clear instructions, which includes road names, all in a very natural non-robotic manner.

The choice of three different routes is good, as are the pleasant day and night modes. There are only a few areas that cause me to grumble. Firstly the POIs on the map are tiny and impossible to see. Another issue is the route options.

We are given three but before we have zoomed in and started to choose which route to take the app quickly chooses for us and proceeds to navigation. There needs to be an indefinite delay whilst we decide which of the three routes to take. Also, the old iPhone app gave a turn by turn text summary of the route yet that fairly essential feature is missing here. Finally, the price. There is a whopping 35% off currently in a flash sale and yet the app still costs £42!! When there are decent free of charge sat nav apps out there you are never going to sell this to the newer generations for that kind of money. This app shouldn't be more than £40 in the first place, let alone with 35% knocked off.

In a flash sale you should be charging £25 tops and even then most will still go for Google, Waze or Here We Go purely because they cost absolutely nothing and whats more they get the job done. Work on your pricing guys and address the few shortcomings of this great app.

This used to be one solid app, the best, now it is the most fussy and frustrating app there is. You can not paste addresses in to it, and lags really bad.

The inability to paste drives me crazy the most, as you essentially have to look up something on your phone, write it on paper, then open Navigon to input. I had an old Navigon GPS back in the day. You could have it chime on different settings, such as speed, cameras, or directions, on each separately or none at all. Can not do that now. Fussy, frustrating, and stubborn to use with the occasional crash. Oh dear, used to have a PND by NAVIGON which,in my opinion used to be the RR,so when I got a decent Samsung thought I'd give the app a try,but it's turned into a Trabbant The ETA is rubbish which you may be able to live with, but the traffic information is truly awful. It shows the same traffic hold ups in the same place everyday and it says the M1 J24 is permanently closed which it hasn't been for at least 18 Months which affects me as it trys to take me J25 coming from the South.

So if you want to still have the best looking and easy to use Sat Navs feel free but I wouldn't recommend it. As an aside I do around 65000 miles a year so need a fairly accurate Sat Nav.

We just rolled out a new update for the focused on providing you even better orientation and making it easier to find places. Before starting a trip, you’ll now be able to easily open up Google Street View, making sure you know exactly what the surroundings of your destination look like. Once on the road, the new version of the app shows 3D elevations to provide better orientation (available as an in app purchase). When you park your car, the new Last Mile feature will save the position and provide walking directions. And last but not least – if you decide at any time to stop by a restaurant or gas station, you can now click directly on any point of interest symbol on the map to navigate there. The NAVIGON for Android update is available free of charge (Panorama View 3D is an in app purchase) for existing customers.

Here are some more details on the new functionalities: Panorama View 3D True 3D elevation views obtained from NASA’s height and terrain data enable intuitive orientation and show drivers what lies ahead. Available as an in app purchase for $9.99, Panorama View 3D adds an additional map layer that is downloaded onto the phone, so no data connection is required while navigating. Last Mile Navigation The new Last Mile feature saves the location of your car and automatically switches into pedestrian mode to provide walking directions – all with just two clicks. Once you’re ready to return to your car, it will easily guide you back, so you don’t have to worry about remembering where you parked.

And if you decide to grab some food on your way back, you can now click on any POI on the map to directly navigate there. Google Street View The new Google Street View function of the NAVIGON app provides users a street-level view of their destination before starting a route. Users can even look at a full screen 360° view to get a better understanding of their destination’s surroundings. Shortly before arriving at the destination, a button appears and users can select to see either Google Street View, parking spots nearby (Clever Parking) or activate the Last Mile pedestrian navigation.
